Menotti's The Telephone at Cedar Rapids Museum of Art

Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre Young Artists will perform The Telephone by Gian Carlo Menotti, a one-act English-language comic opera, and a selection of favorite arias at the Cedar Rapids Museum of Art, 410 3rd Ave SE. This free, one hour performance is open to the public; no reservations required.

Tuesday, June 12, Noon Tune into IPR Classical or listen online at iowapublicradio.org for a special performance and interview with host Jacqueline Halbloom and the cast of Brigadoon.

Hear selected arias from Cedar Rapids Opera Theatre’s upcoming production of “Turandot” and other popular operatic pieces performed by cast members Rebecca Nash, Ta'u Pupu'a, Chloé Olivia Moore, Matthew Lau, Andrew McLaughlin, Nicholas Nestorak, Max Zander, Ashley Kay Armstrong, Christina Bernardoni, Ian Butler, Matt Chastain, Samuel Cotton, Leigh Folta, Alanna Fraize, Erin Persick and Liang Zhao, with pianist Shari Rhoads.

At this special anniversary event we shared memories and Scottish-inspired refreshments entertainment by Scottish Highlander piper Brian McKenzie, a Celtic-inspired harp program by Young at Harp, and performances by cast members of Brigadoon.

The party was held overlooking downtown Cedar Rapids on the spacious, covered, outdoor 4th floor balcony of the new CRST Building.
